Treasures in the Sand

‘Medieval Times’

September 6 & 7, 2024

Our 16th annual Treasures in the Sand was held September 6 & 7, 2024 at Sudbury Beach in Penticton, BC on beautiful Skaha Lake.

This year’s theme was “MEDIEVAL TIMES”.

The Friday night hunt had 42 participants, and a total of 58 participants for the all day Saturday hunt. Thank you to our MC for the day, club President, Adam Morley. Big thank you also to all club members and participants for making this years hunt a great success.

The proceeds of this years donation from the WestJet raffle tickets, which totaled $9,400.00, went to Critteraid Animal Sanctuary in Summerland, BC. The work they do providing shelter, medical care, healing, and love to thousands of animals of all kinds is commendable, not to mention the education and rescue they provide to help end animal suffering throughout the Okanagan.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the individual and corporate contributors. We appreciate your generosity and could not have put on such a successful hunt without you.

The winner of the WestJet “Gift of Flight” tickets was Matthew Piljek. Congratulations!

The major prize winners from the Saturday hunt were:

Marny Zischka – XP Deus Metal Detector

Kim Leverett – Garrett Ace Apex Metal Detector

Al Hepworth – Garrett AT Gold Metal Detector

Ken McGill – Garrett Ace 150 Metal Detector

Stewart McCartney – XP MI-4 Pinpointer

Thanks, again, to all who came out and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!
